Disney On The Rocks
On today's podcast Coach Blu take a deep dive into his experience while attending a mental health and addiction conference in Orlando Florida. Following the conference, he was able to attend Walt Disney World Epcot theme park and was absolutely blown away by how much drinking of alcohol had become part of the Disney experience. After a 40-year absence of alcohol within the Disney theme park experience, 10 years ago wine and beer were introduced and now, September 2022, new park rules allow the spirits to openly flow. Listen as he discusses some of his thoughts and what he discovered from Walt Disney himself about why he would not allow the consumption of alcohol in his parks originally. Become informed about what you should be aware of before you book a family experience to a location like this and what you should know about potential triggers before you invest in Disney resorts for your next family vacation.
**Clarification on Disney lobbying to lower drinking age at Disney parks. We have found that to be misinformation-https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/disney-world-drinking-age/

The Minor League with Savannah Robinson: Do We Remember?
The Minor League is BACK! Listen as Savannah and Coach Blu process memory and why its so important to allow our experiences to settle in the correct spots in our minds. For some people, ruminating thoughts are a way to control anxiety. It may mean you're replaying life events in an attempt to make sure that next time, you're prepared and won't feel as anxious. Repeating entire conversations in your head is a type of rumination. It's how your mind attempts to self-soothe.

Listener Q&A: Are You Cross Addicting?
On this week's podcast, the Agents answer listener questions and share their insights into cross-addiction, offer advice on how to stay focused in your recovery, and set up a powerful topic for next week's show.
Cross addiction, also known as addiction transfer or Addiction Interaction Disorder. It is when a person has two or more addictive behaviors. The addictions can include alcohol or other drugs, but can also include addictions to food, gambling, sex, gaming or other compulsive behaviors.
Addiction is the continued use of a substance or engagement in a behavior despite the potential for personal problems, harm and negative consequences. For example, consider a gambling addiction. If you continue to gamble to the point that you can no longer pay your bills, you lose your car or damage relationships, you may have an addiction.

Out of Bounds with Chris Herren
This week Coach Blu interviews former NBA Player, Chris Herren on his ability to turn the mess of addiction, into the message of the Herren Project, helping others overcome addiction. Herren grew up in Fall River, Mass., a high school basketball phenom and McDonald’s All-American who went on to play for Boston College before being kicked out for cocaine use. He went to Fresno State to finish his college career, missing part of a season to get drug treatment, and was eventually the 33rd pick in the 1999 NBA draft, going to the Denver Nuggets. When he went home to Massachusetts during the offseason, his old habits re-emerged and after being traded to his hometown Celtics and suffering an injury, his addiction took over. Listen to Chris share some of his great experiences and insight for someone looking for recovery and the newcomer.
